Hi All,

Well apologies again for the lack of blogging we have been very busy and have spent a lot of time out of mobile phone and internet range. We are currently anchored just of the beach at Airlie. For those of you how know the area we are just between the point where Coral Beach Resort is located and the pools that are located along the foreshore at Airlie Beach. It is currently a bit windy around 15 knots blowing from the east south east and a bit overcast. We have spent the last 2 nights at Abel Point Marina; it is a huge marina with around 500 berths and a lot of charter boats big and small moving in and out every day. The manager there used to manage the Sanctuary Cove Marina back in the day. Those of you who used to boat with us back then would remember Richard, a lovely guy who has now taken on big responsibilities and from what we have seen doing a great job and enjoying living in a beautiful part of the world.  Other things that have happened in the last few weeks:

•             We left the Keppel’s around the 12th of July and had our first night sail from Great Keppel to the Percy’s. It was a fantastic night, full moon, steady winds and no dramas.

•             From the Percy’s we went to Scawfell Island and anchored right up in close to the beach, we thought that we would have a good night sleep, little did we know that we would spend most of the night awake as our anchor dragged with the 30+ knot winds. You just never know when you’re on a boat!!!

•             From there we headed for the Whitsundays, our first stop was Goldsmith Island at the southern end, then up to Shaw Island which is opposite Linderman Island.

•             Our next stop was Abel Point marina to pick up our friends Jamie and Nikki and their kids for a few days on the boat. We had a good time and it was great to catch up with them. We spent a few days at Whitehaven Beach. It was fantastic, great walks, crystal clear waters and even some late afternoon wakeboarding!!!

•             We then went to Hamilton Island for a couple of days, Lauren was flying in from the Gold Coast and it was a good excuse to take Jamie and Nikki and their family for a look around the Island. Again we had a lovely time and all the kids enjoyed there time on the Island. Especially Mac and Trent who spent most of their day’s scootering around the Island.

•             We dropped the Mendham’s back at Abel Point Marina yesterday and went around to the big 4 caravan park to see their set up and have a cool drink or 2 in the “Trailer Park” They left this morning heading south and we are sitting at Airlie reflecting on a great week.

Anyway we will probably hang around the Whitsundays for the next week or so and show Lauren what she has missed out on and then we will head north towards Townsville and some warmer weather.

Until next time,

Safe Sailing!!
